Hey there, I’m Jesús. I’m a photographer working and living in SWFL.
My name is Jesús, the name behind J Rafael Photography LLC. I am a Naples, FL, based traveling photographer that does a little bit of everything. My specialties include private & corporate events, portraits, headshots, dance, and commercial real estate.
Long before a career, photography dates back to receiving my first disposable camera as a gift from my grandma at seven years old. It sparked my observant nature. I captured the world through my eyes; my lens. I purchased my first Canon DSLR in 2009 and dabbled in some Film & TV work out of Miami, Orlando and NYC. With the experience gained on sets, I discovered the need for headshots and content at an affordable price without diminishing quality. During my undergraduate studies, I took art courses to develop a strong sense of depth and field, lighting, and craft my own style. Soon after, I moved back south and graduated from FGCU (Go Eagles) with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication concentrating in Public Relations.
I interned with Rookery Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve and CollegeFashionista.com as an undergrad to cultivate my photography skills and writing craft. I worked freelance as a photojournalist for Coastal Breeze News for two years and gained event experience covering news to high end home tours and fashion shows in the Marco Island, FL area. Since starting my business I have worked with small businesses, realtors, actors, dancers, models, couples, and families. I have worked at various indoor and outdoor locations, ranging from coastal beaches and urban settings to high-end venues.
I strive to establish solid connections through my professional work. With over four years of professional experience and a lifetime of passion, I dedicate attention to detail in every session I do.
